House Rules
At Bowling Depot, we are committed to providing a bowling facility that can be enjoyed by all walks
of life. We are also committed to providing a safe environment for all customers and staff alike.
Given that our customer base includes families, we have a list of house rules that we request that everybody
follow.
Five pin bowling is a game of skill and accuracy, not speed and power.
General safety.
- Bowling shoes are mandatory on the approach for bowlers, aides, photographers, and coaches.
- Outdoor footwear must be left at the main entrance coat racks.
- Bowling shoes must not be worn outside the premises.
- Do not cross the foul line. Only Bowling Depot employees are permitted past the foul line.
- Please keep all hands clear of the up-ramp on the ball rack.
- If it is not your turn, please stay off the approach.
- If any disrespect is shown ("throwing" the ball, more than one ball on the lane at a time, horseplay,
etc.) the entire lane will be asked to return their shoes and leave.
- Please do not place wet towels or other wet items on the keyboard consoles.
- Do not prank or surprise a bowler while he or she is bowling. This can cause a serious accident.
- This is a family establishment. Please avoid the use of foul language. We reserve the right to edit objectionable bowler names.
Bumper bowling
- Bumpers are available on any lane provided at least one of the following is on the roster of that lane.
- A child 10 years of age or younger.
- A handicapped person or a person with a valid special need.
- Do not tamper with the bumper settings, penalty is a loss of turn.
- Bank shot bowling will not be tolerated. Penalty is a loss of bumpers for the lane.
Food and Drink
- While bowling please keep all food and drink on the black tables.
- Do not bring food or drink into the elevated bowler seating area.
- NO outside food or drink is allowed (except birthday cake for full birthday party bookings).
- If you spill something, please notify us immediately for cleanup. Do not step in wet areas or puddles.
- Allergies: It is your responsibility to inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions. Ask us if you have any
questions about our menu or ingredients.
Smoking
- Bowling Depot is a non-smoking environment.
- Electronic cigarettes and other "vape" devices may not be used in the premises.
- Cannabis cannot be consumed in the building or on the building property.
- Please be considerate of our fellow tenants and guests by not smoking next to the mailbox.
- Please use the receptacle to the south of our entrance. Do not discard cigarettes in the landscaped areas.
Liquor
- Service is subject to all Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) regulations.
- Please be prepared to present valid government photo ID regardless of your age.
- We cannot serve you if you appear impaired whether by liquor or any other drug.
- There is no outside alcohol permitted.
- Masks and excessive makeup will disqualify such wearer from liquor service.
- Liquor must be served and remain in transparent glassware supplied by the bowling center.
- At last call, maximum possession is two standard sized drinks per eligible customer.
- Drink responsibly. Never drink and drive. We can phone for taxi service on request.
- Any violation of alcohol policy at Bowling Depot results in immediate expulsion of those involved.
There is no exception or amnesty to this rule.
Reservations
- Reservations are not accepted on stat holidays or New Year's Eve.
- For open bowling hours, reservations will be accepted on 12 of the 24
lanes. The other 12 lanes are allocated on a walk-in basis only. Large groups (50+ people) requiring more than
12 lanes may reserve more than 12 lanes subject to approval.
- A reservation with $50 deposit is required for Pizza Pop and Pins.
A $100 deposit is required for all birthday party reservationss. A $200 deposit is required for all group reservations.
A $500 deposit is required for private functions.
Deposits must be paid in full at the time of reservation.
A credit card may be processed over the phone (Interac/Visa debit hybrid cards or "virtual Visa Debit" will not work). Your deposit can be applied to your final bill.
- Due to PCI requirements we require an email (a valid fax in lieu of email is okay) for anyone processing a deposit over the telephone.
- If a deposit is deferred due to a lack of a credit card, a card declined by the bank or if the card system is down, it must be paid by an agreed time,
usually within 48 hours of the booking.
A lack of deposit will nullify a reservation along with any quoted group, birthday or discount rates.
- We require at least 48 hours notice of cancellation without penalty (7 day notice required for private functions.
- The penalty for a no-show is forfeiture of the deposit.
- Lanes cannot be held for late arrivals and will be dispatched when a waiting list exists. Please
check in at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
Otherwise, we reserve the right to dispatch your lane to walk-in players.
- If a group misrepresents itself as a reservation or a reservation is believed to be made under false pretense,
the reservation will be void. The offending group shall be repositioned at the "tail end
of the line" for open play.
Other
- Abusive behavior towards staff or other customers will not be tolerated.
- Bowl at your own risk. The purchaser and any consumer of bowling services shall
assume all risks which may cause property damage, injury and/or death.
- It is up to you to ensure you are physically and medically able to bowl. When in doubt, please consult with your physician before
participating in this or any other physical activity.
- Our glow bowling includes flashing lights, black lights, lasers and fog - which is not recommended for
those with photosensitive medical conditions. Please consult with your doctor or specialist.
- In open bowling, all score corrections must be reported and completed at the control desk.
- We reserve the right to charge 90 cents per practice ball.
- We have "funky bowl" sheets available. If you bring your own "funky bowl" sheet, its use is subject to
approval for safety reasons.
- Refund policy: On an individual case basis. We are five pin, not ten pin.
A unit of bowling is not refundable once play has begun.
If a guest is disqualified from liquor service, the balance of his or her group will be disqualified from any refund if they leave early.
